ANGELS - 2000 RELEASE
Angels is a collection of Laurina's early recordings as well as recent recordings


In October 2000 Laurina released their first CD entitled Angels, a collection of songs from 1995 to 2000 (20 tracks). It includes everything from pop to techno to soft rock to beautiful, enchanting musical instrumentals. The songs are mystical, spiritual and at times haunting. Serapha writes most of the lyrics and music on the CD. Many of the song lyrics included in Angels are poems written by Serapha throughout recent years. Her lyrics carry powerful messages and thoughts.

Angels, the title track, is a gentle, inspirational song based on one of Serapha's early poems. It will leave you feeling inspired and enlightened. This is surely a CD that will stay in your collection for years to come!

Angels
The CD begins with Angels, A gentle, inspirational track written in 2000 by Serapha. The introductory pianos merge seamlessly with the soft vocals. The lyrics are beautifully written and will offer words of encouragement, hope and inspiration to all who listen.   Click here to listen to a sample.

Angels Pop2 Remix

The Hanging
The Hanging is based on one of Serapha's early poems. A song with a meloncholy feel about an unjust hanging in the 1800's. The music is very descriptive and begins with the scream of a flute. The flute can be heard throughout the song and signifies the voice of the man being hung. The poem is recited by Laurina, and the backup vocals are sung by Laurina. This is a touching piece with great feeling and emotion.   Click here to listen to a sample.

Battalions
Battalions begins with a thunderous drum that instills an image of a large group of soilders headed for battle. The song is based on the revolutionary war. Guns can be heard firing rapidly in the background. The vocals are smooth and soft. The music begins slowly and then gains momentum as it progresses--a very powerful song!   Click here to listen to a sample.

Harvest Moon
Harvest Moon is a song written about the Salem witch trials. The tale is told of how the accused women tried to escape their captors, hiding among the shadows of the night, guided by the natural light of the moon. Vocals and music are soft and mystical.   Click here to listen to a sample.

Harvest Moon Mix
This remix was created by Laurina with some help from Serapha. It blends a techno beat with the original track's vocals and pianos.   Click here to listen to a sample.

Trust Mix

Trust
Serapha wrote this poem about trust several years ago. She later wrote the music for it. It is one of the slower ballads on the Angels CD.   Click here to listen to a sample.

Come Together
A song about uniting forces written by Laurina, Come Together offers something very unique to the CD. It is a different sound for the band. This song is done in a pop-rock style. Vocals are sung in a lower key and the music is at a faster tempo.   Click here to listen to a sample.

The Horseman
The Horseman is one of Laurina's earliest recordings written by Serapha about the legend of the headless horseman. There are no lyrics to this song; however, there are haunting vocals. There is a strong, distinct drumbeat throughout the song, representing the thud of a horses hooves galloping in the night--looking for his unfortunate vicitims.   Click here to listen to a sample.

Autumn
This instrumental peice features enchanting pianos and strings. A lovely ballad to relax to.   Click here to listen to a sample.

Eclipse
Eclipse, a song about being overshadowed, is a classic pop-techno track written by Laurina. Vocals are strong and the music is at a faster tempo.   Click here to listen to a sample.

Century
After visiting several war time memorials, Serapha was inspired to write the track Century. The haunting, melancholy track is one of several instrumentals on the CD.   Click here to listen to a sample.

Fairy (Interlude), Fairy Dust
The Fairy was an early recording of Laurina that was digitally remastered and mixed with a piece Serapha later wrote, Fairy Dust. The Fairy acts as an interlude to the instrumental, Fairy Dust. This song has a mystical feel to it.   Click here to listen to a sample.

Serenity
Serapha wrote Serenity, based on a large, empty victorian ballroom she had once seen. She just couldn't resist thinking of all the people that once filled the now vacant room. The room at one time so lively and animated was now so still, so serene.   Click here to listen to a sample.

Home
Home, written by Serapha, is a haunting ballad. The vocals are strong and at times eerie. It is an enlightening ballad with beautiful, spiritual lyrics.   Click here to listen to a sample.

The Hunt
This instrumental piece is very short, but very powerful. Serapha plays it with astonishing accuracy and speed!   Click here to listen to a sample.

Green Fields
Laurina plays classical guitar on this track. It is a relaxing accoustic ballad. The music and vocals blend well so that neither overpowers the other.   Click here to listen to a sample.


Little Piano
Both vocals and music were recorded live in this piece. This shows the sinister side of Serapha's music. A sweet, charming piece of music with an ominous edge.   Click here to listen to a sample.
